Cam corker crowns Atlantis charge at Counties

Senior Boys’ club captain, Cam Lambourne (15) led the way in an exciting second and final weekend of competition for Atlantis at the 2011 Sussex County Swimming Championships at K2.

In a thrilling conclusion to the blue riband 100m Free Mens’ Open Championship Cam secured gold for the second year running, in a National qualifying time of 53.01 seconds. Cam contributed a further 3 Regional qualifying times to the 20 achieved by Atlantis swimmers over the 2 day competition.

Kate and Ella Windle (10 & 12) were also in form with Kate winning 50 free, 100, 200 and 400 IM and 200 back, and Ella 100 and 200 IM gold medals, achieving between them 5 Regional times.

Beth Britain, Jade Stocker & James Hartley also won gold with Jess Matlock, Katy Harris, Aimee Davies, Eleanor Morris, Beth Britton, Rebecca Lobley, Jade Stocker and Matt Fulcher all Regional qualifiers.

Commenting on the Clubs performance Bill Penny, Head Coach at Atlantis said “I am immensely proud of all our swimmers who have worked so hard to achieve these results. 90 per cent of them gained personal best times, and they succeeded at all levels of the competition.”

    

Overall Age group results for the 2011 Championship ranked Atlantis second in Sussex with the girls’ joint first.
