Our unbeaten run continues.

10th June 2015

Atlantis took part in round two of the Sussex League on Saturday night 6th June 2015, hosted by East Grinstead.

As the strongest team going into the round the focus was gaining as many league points as possible with the final round expected to be a tough contest. The team got off to a great start with the girls U16 of Lily Davis and Maddie Carey scoring maximum points and setting the tone for the rest of the evening. Points were amassed at a very high rate and the target of 500 points set by the coaches at one point seemed possible. This was always going to be extremely hard to achieve but the team did everything they could to get there. With an incredible 46 wins and 31 2nd places, Atlantis were in dominant form throughout. The Under 14 girls were especially strong holding first and second places without loss all night.

The result sets up for a very exciting final round which will be held at K2 on 26th June against Crawley and Brighton a repeat of last year’s final where Atlantis finished runners up. This year promises to be very exciting with all three teams equally matched. Head Coach Andy Lobley commented “The team swam really well tonight and we now need to focus on the final round. All three teams in the final have a real chance of winning this year and if the swimmers all perform to the best of their ability we will definitely be in with a chance at the end”
