There have been some sizzling swims over the weekend!
21st July 2014
Some 20 plus swimmers from across the squads went down to Portsmouth this weekend for their End of Season Level 3 Meet. With temperatures outside really hot, the heat was on the in pool too. The weekend was a great success for the club with numerous medal winners and some great long course swimming experience. With lots of swimmers spending the night down in Portsmouth it was also a great chance to experience sleeping in a hotel, eating together and having to get up and rely on hotel breakfast and still perform well in the pool.
Andy Lobley said " It was great to see so many medals and PB's at the end of the season and the fact that we had members of all squads swimming together was really great to see". " We have had a great season and while we still have nationals to go, whilst the rest of the swimmers can start to look forward to what promises to be another very exciting season.
Also, in Steyning, there was the second Horsham triathlon , and again there were several Atlantis swimmers taking part. On a very hot day, Isabella Hayes won the 9-10, Amelia Wright won the 11-12 with Ethel Whyman coming in 3rd. Evie Clarke won the 13-14 age group and James Hartley came second in the 13-14. Also competing were Sam Clarke, George Haskell and Amelie Somers whilst Adam Webster did his first novice race. Again, well done all.
