Our Penguins and Seals gala is a resounding success!

28th April 2014

The Atlantis top Gold and Silver squads held a sprint gala for our Penguins and Seals members at The Pavilions on Saturday 27th April.

The squad members were set the task of promoting the meet, organizing the workforce, arranging and booking the facilities, raffle, cake stall, officials, PA system and they all did a really fantastic job. It is fair to say that the meet ran as well as other meets that we go to as a club.

We also had some younger members of Bronze squad poolside, selling the 100 square sheet and also three budding photographers taking a picture story of the whole evening which will be uploaded to the website soon. Special thanks to the teams doing these roles.

For the Penguins and Seals it was an opportunity for them to show the older club members what they could do under full racing conditions and like their peers they certainly lived up to the occasion. The racing was fast and furious and Personal Best (PB's) swims were numerous. The evening finished with a couple of relay races and it was a fantastic sight to see over 60 Penguins and Seals from our three teaching pools uniting together and swimming as one squad which ultimately is what we, as a club, are all about. It was a truly inspiring evening for the coaches who look forward to working with TEAM ATLANTIS long into the future. WELL DONE EVERYONE!
