A successful start in the league for Atlantis.

31st March 2014

Following on from the individual swimming successes at the County Championships last month, Atlantis swimmers had their first team event of the season on Saturday evening. The Sussex League sees all the larger swimming clubs in the county competing against each other in two leagues. The Atlantis team travelled to Bognor Regis for their first gala in the top league against Littlehampton and East Grinstead. The club is looking to improve on last years third place finish and so a good opening performance was required, and the swimmers didnt disappoint. The gala consists of 38 individual races, where each team has two swimmers in each race, and 17 relay races which have one team from each club. From the first race to the last, Atlantis dominated the gala, finishing 1st in 36 of the 55 races, which eased them to a very comfortable win and a great start to their league campaign. The next round will be at The Pavillions in the Park on 28th June against Worthing and Mid Sussex Marlins.
