Atlantis age group swimmers took the Sussex County Championships by storm retaining their Top Girls title and scooping the Overall Girls and Boys crown for the first time.

With a record number of 70 Atlantis swimmers achieving county qualifying times the results both individually & collectively were outstanding with a huge medal haul and club records galore.

Junior Club Captain Yasmin Hooker led the way winning the Open & Junior 200m backstroke Championships & sharing the Junior 100m backstroke title. Lilly Davis took the Junior 200m Breaststroke Championship together with the prodigious 14 years Bagcats Award for overall points.

Other top three Bagcat places went to Ethel Whyman (2nd 10 yrs), Michael Pallister(2nd 9 yrs), Rebecca Barber (3rd 11yrs) and Maddie Carey (3rd 12yrs). Multiple gold medal winners were Yasmin Hooker, Lilly Davis, Beth Britton, Rebecca Barber, Ethel Whyman, Isabella Hayes, Edward Hundleby & James Hartley.

The success of the younger swimmers and the building competitivness between the older age groupers augurs well for the health and future of the club. With over 70 S.E.Regional qualifying times being achieved over the course of the Championships the club`s Professional Coaches Bill Penny and Andy Lobley will now plan to increase the intensity needed to ensure further improvement at this higher level & increase our representation at the Nationals in July.
