Off the blocks in Brighton.

On Saturday 14th September swimmers from Atlantis took part in the Ken Deeley Open Meet in Brighton.

The day started off well with Emma Morris getting a second in the 9 year 100m Individual Medley and continuing her good form with 2nds in the 50m Fly and 50m Freestyle (CQT) and 3rd in 50m Breaststroke(CQT) with Emma Harrison pipping her at the post in this event and taking 2nd place and a CQT. Our 9 year old girls were particularly strong with the two Emmas, Anna Templar and Isabella Hayes taking 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th in the Breaststroke and Freestyle! ( all pictured in photo )

Winners on the day included Amelia Wright with first place and a CQT in the 10 year 50m breaststroke plus a 3rd in the 100m IM (both with a CQTs and PBs) and Lilly Cherriman 12 who also did a brilliant swim 50m Breaststroke to get a well-deserved first place and CQT.

Congratulations must also go to all the swimmers who got Personal Best Times (and those who remembered their streamlining)!

Other medal winners (4th – 6th places) included Izzy Hooker, Cameron Holden-Graham, Holly Porter, Rose Stride, Emma Harrison, Anna Templar, Emma Morris, and Isabella Hayes.

County Qualifying Times were also achieved by George Charter, Gabriella Eltham, Rose Stride and Isabella Hayes.

Jane Holden team manager on the day said “Swimmers faced stiff competition from top teams in Kent, Surrey and Sussex but despite this there were some impressive swims from our youngsters”
