Early Birds

In their first competition since returning from their very demanding overseas training camp in Lanzorote , Atlantis senior squads really showed their true worth at Crawleys "Not So Early Bird" meet last weekend .

 

The meet was over 50m long course and provided an opportunity to achieve some qualification times for the different levels of swimming competition and an ability to swim some longer distance races at the same time.

 

It was a hugely successful weekend for the Atlantis swimmers with over 44 County Qualification Times achieved , 19 Regional Qualification Times and the icing on the cake being Bex Lobley (17) achieving her National Time in 200m Breaststroke .

 

In achieving her time in the 200m Breastroke (2.42.20), Bex won the event and then added wins in the 200m Individual Medley and 100m Breastroke, obtaining regional times as well .

 

Other swimmers winning their age group races were Kate Windle (12) again in 200m Breastroke and Eleanor Morris (13 ) in the 100m Breastroke .

 

The weekend started with Ella Windle(14) gaining her county time in the 400m Individual Medley and along with Gemma Cumber (12), they gained county times on 400m Freestyle . George Charter (14 ) then swam the 1500m freestyle, achieving his county time and it ended with Isobel Dunlop(17), Beth Hundleby (16) and Rose Stride (12 ) all achieving their county times in the grueling 800m Freestyle .

 

The following swimmers all gained Regional Times during the weekend -Lily Davis (12 ) , Rebecca Lobley (17) , Isobel Davis (16) , Kate Windle (12) , George Boyle (14) , James Hartley (12) , Matt Fulcher (17) and Beth Hundleby (16).
