Atlantis put in a good show at Crawley Early Bird Gala.

8th October 2012

Sunday 6th October saw Atlantis take a squad of swimmers to the annual "early bird" long course event in Crawley . It's a great opportunity to compete in a 50m pool , rather than the usual 25m where most of the club's training takes place .

The swimmers are in the middle of some intense training regimes at the moment and some of the younger swimmers had not even swam in a 50m pool before, so the objective was to put some times on the board and to enjoy the day .

The team really produced some superb swims, particularly the younger ones, with some great personal best times . Particular mention to Evie Clarke on her 200IM , Holly Porter on her 200 Free , Lily Cherriman and Lily Davis on their breastroke swims , Ethyl Whyman, Ellie Smith, Toby Van Der Hut and Gemma Cumber on their 200 Free and James Hartley on his 200m backstroke. Overall the team achieved 26 County Qualifying Times .

So early in the season it was a really good day and a great experience .
