Atlantis set up Sussex League grand finale!!

25th June 2012

Saturday night was round 2 of the Sussex League and with our two main competitors already awaiting us in the final round on six points, it was vital that we could go into it on the same points. With opposition from Littlehampton and Marlins, this was always going to be tough. The thing about Atlantis is the team spirit, it is fantastic, and last night, yet again, every swimmer swam with passion and importantly they swam for each other. We lead from the start with Emma and Ella getting us off to a great start. We continued to gain momentum as the night went on and had the comfort of going into the final event knowing we didn't need to win it, although that didn't stop the swimmers doing their upmost to try and seal that win. Special mention to Hamish Skilman and Sam Hawkins, both of whom were taking part for the first time, and both lived up to our expectations and beyond and bodes well for the future. There are signs of depth within both our male and female squads now, and although this still needs time to develop, it promises much. Thanks to all who turned up to help, especially Gill Sutherland who did a great job running the gala and congratulations to all. Edward sub 30 for the first time !!!!! Well done.
