Kate Windle finshed the Sussex County Championship with a massive gold medal haul of 15.

Kate (11) was in fine form over the two weekends, swimming all strokes and distances and proving to be a dominant force in her age group. Having competed at the English Nationals last year, Kate’s experience of swimming at the highest level was clear to see. Team-mate Beth Britton (12) saved her best to last, achieving her first ever English National qualifying time in the 100M Backstroke to go alongside her staggering 10 gold medals from this year’s Sussex Counties. Ella Windle (13) was also in good form winning 4 Gold medals in a range of distance’s and strokes. Eleanor Morris, Yasmin Hooker, James Hartley and Edward Hundleby also won Gold Medals in what was another very successful championship for Atlantis swimmers.

Head Coach Bill Penny “ I am really satisfied with the performances of all our swimmers this year. It is great that we have won so many medals but of equal importance to myself and my coaching team is the amount of swimmers who qualified for this year’s Regional Championships and the amount of swimmers that achieved life time best swims. To see so many of our swimmers swimming faster than they have ever done before is very rewarding for them and the coaching team. We go forward towards the regionals now with a great confidence and team spirit”.
