As part of its continuing development as a competitive swimming club, Atlantis Horsham is introducing regular long course training for its more experienced swimmers who are aiming to compete at regional and national level.

Swimming competitions are divided into short and long course formats. Short course competitions are held in 25m pools and long course in 50m pools. It is important for Atlantis swimmers to gain experience of long course as all of the regional and national competitions are generally held in 50m pools.

On Sunday night Atlantis held the first of its regular long course training sessions in the 50m pool at K2 near Crawley. 15 swimmers from Atlantisí top two squads (Gold and Silver) took part in a lively 2-hour session under the watchful eye of coaches Paul Blyth and Andy Lobley.

Atlantis intends to hold regular Sunday evening sessions, and to build these around the very busy gala programme and to complement that weekend training camps and stroke clinics that are also planned.

Pictures from the session are attached to the right.
