GEORGE PASSES STIFF EXAMINATION WITH FLYING COLOURS

23rd May 2011

Despite his GCSEs taking up a lot of time, Atlantis swimmer George Clarke represented Sussex Squids -  a swimming club for people of all ages with disabilities - at a Gala at Felpham Leisure Centre last Saturday.

George was on storming form.  In all he won 6 gold medals - in the backstroke x 1, breaststroke x 1, freestyle x1, freestyle x2, IM 3x1, Medley relay 3x1 (with George swimming the breaststroke leg), and Silver in the free 4x1 relay.

He also picked up the Individual Medley Relay Trophy for the second year running and the Junior Boys Cup.

Other teams competing were from Kent Sharks, Mid-Sussex Marlins & Bexhill SC.

Proud Dad Tim, a Science Teacher at The Angmering School, said, ' I was time-keeping in another lane and I heard one of our coaches say "look at him go" I couldn't take my eyes off my lane and it was only afterwards that I learnt that George was at it again!!'

George - who is a member of the Atlantis Billingshurst Bronze Squad, has also recently represented  Atlantis at a team gala in Redhill.
