About Atlantis Swimming Club
Atlantis is one of Sussex's leading competitive swimming clubs. Founded 30 years ago, it now regularly has swimmers representing the club at County, Regional and National level. The club participates in the top division of the Sussex Swimming League and is currently in the First South Division of the National Arena Swimming League. Our swimmers also have regular opportunities to compete in Open Swimming Galas.
The club is organised into 4 competitive squads, 1 Masters' squad, 2 novice squads and 1 fitness squad. For further information about squads go to the "Squad" section.
The club has a professional chief coach, Bill Penny and a team of 19 ASA qualified swimming coaches and teachers, together with a specialist land training coach.
The club holds training sessions 7 days a week, operating from three bases in Horsham, Billingshurst and Steyning. The club also holds an annual week-long training camp abroad for its competitive squads. Over the next 12 months, the club is also introducing weekend training camps in the UK and regular technique clinics.
Atlantis has a growing reputation for developing young swimming talent. We also welcome swimmers who want to participate in the sport as part of a healthy lifestyle.
Our philosophy is based on a belief that the swimmers for whom we are responsible will thrive if we can provide them with a welcoming, inclusive, safe and purposeful environment. Competitive - certainly; but fun and friendly as well!
