Committee Roles:

The roles of the officers of the club are outlined below:

The Chairperson is responsible for ensuring that the Club is well managed and run efficiently. He/she sets the agenda for and chairs all meetings of the club committee (including AGMs) and guides members through the agenda, as well as representing the Club at other meetings. The Chairperson provides leadership and support/guidance to club members where necessary, oversees committee decisions and holds the casting vote. Other duties include acting as signatory on club cheques, authorizing expenditure, leading the Disciplinary Committee, and preparing/presenting the annual report for the AGM.

The Club Secretary acts as principal administrative officer for the club and is the first point of contact for general correspondence. He/she assists the Chairperson in the preparation of the Annual report, acts as a signatory on cheques, and is the main point of contact for regional and national ASA matters.

The Membership Secretary supports new members of the Club and maintains up to date records of club membership.

The Competition Secretary organises the Club’s competition commitments in conjunction with the Head Coach and Management Committee.

The Treasurer is responsible for collating a record of accounts and monitoring the finances of the Club to ensure that the Club remains solvent.

The Welfare Officer ensures that the club operates a safe, effective and child friendly environment that promotes good practice in line with the club’s Child Protection policy.

The Swim 21 Co-ordinator co-ordinates the implementation and development of the Swim21 initiative within the club.

The Press/Publicity Officer is responsible for raising the profile of club activities to club members, the media and the local community.

The Fundraising chair is responsible for actively seeking sponsorship for the club and identifying and planning fundraising events.

The Social Secretary organises social events for the relevant members of the club as directed / approved by the committee.

The Kit Officer is responsible for the swim shop and related merchandising activities.

The Workforce Development Coordinator leads the recruitment, retention and recognition of club volunteers, officials and sets up training as required .
